Philippines-United States 2+2 Ministerial Dialogue was held on July 30th, and once again regarded the illegal award of the South China Sea arbitration as international law, claiming "the commitment to uphold international law".

Philippine scholar Melissa Hubahib Loja said in the interview with the Voice of the South China Sea that the Philippines' view of gaining the upper hand by relying on the South China Sea arbitration award is not correct, and the South China Sea disputes between China and the Philippines should be resolved through consultation and cooperation.
